Chamber Highlights | Week Of Apr. 13-17
April 17, 2026
It was a very busy week full of connections and collaboration!

The membership team started out the week on Monday at the Home Services Roundtable, with Kent Cusick, Ace Handyman, speaking about how to level up your networking, and the next day they welcomed 120+ to the April Luncheon at Randy Peters Event Center.
Wednesday they hosted the first Brewing Connections morning mixer as part of our Coffee Passport, thank you to The Hidden Coffee Bar for welcoming us!
Later that day, they welcomed some of our new members to the April Chamber Orientation.
Thursday was a day filled with events; The Women In Business Group led by Marcie Shelton, The Leaders' Partner,
a Canva Create Watch Party and Workshop led by Ann Bouchard and team at Bouchard Communications, and the day ended with a multi-chamber mixer at Golfland Sunsplash.

The Leadership Roseville class gathered on Thursday as well for their eighth Session, focused on Recreation, Tourism, and Arts & Culture. Participants heard from Roseville Parks, Recreation, and Libraries, toured the new Placer Valley Soccer Complex, and gained insights from Placer Valley Tourism. The day wrapped up with a visit to the Maidu Museum and a tour of the Historic Maidu Trail, highlighting the region’s rich cultural heritage.

Also on Thursday night, the Roseville Area Business PAC (RABPAC) hosted a successful fundraiser filled with connection and advocacy. Held at Bennett’s Westside Grill in Rocklin, the event brought together local business leaders, community stakeholders, and supporters of pro-business initiatives for an engaging and impactful gathering.
The event served not only as a social mixer, but also as an opportunity to support the ongoing efforts of RABPAC, which works to advocate for policies and candidates that promote economic vitality and a strong business climate across the region.
The Chamber wrapped up the week by celebrating MasterMax Builders with a Ribbon Cutting on Friday, and they welcomed six new members to the Chamber:
- ThirdSpace Communities
- CM Corp
- Java City
- Sugar Llamas
- Redwood Glen Business Solutions
- California Closets - Market Ct

In this week's advocacy updates, California lawmakers are considering Assembly Bill 1776 (AB 1776), which would significantly expand the state’s Cartwright Act by creating a new prohibition on single-firm conduct. The bill stems from the California Law Revision Commission’s efforts to modernize antitrust law and would codify its January 2026 recommendation.
AB 1776 also asserts that California antitrust law is broader than federal law and limits the role of federal precedent. By removing certain requirements typically needed to prove monopolization, the bill could make antitrust claims easier to bring and harder to dismiss—potentially increasing their use alongside or instead of federal claims.
With the ambiguity of what practices are legal and the chance of increased lawsuits and legal costs, CalChamber recommends opposition to the bill in protection of our business communities.
