Funeral Service Education
The Funeral Service degree program prepares students for entry-level employment in the funeral service industry, provides a strong theory-based curriculum and related clinical experience reflective of the current industry standard, and maintains or exceeds the standards put forth by the accrediting board. Legal Studies
The Legal Studies program at American River College, approved by the American Bar Association, has prepared students for entry-level legal careers for over 30 years. Under California law, a paralegal is someone qualified by education, training, or experience to perform substantial legal work under the supervision of a licensed attorney. The Business Information Worker (BIW) program is a two-tiered career pathway designed for students pursuing office and administrative support roles. Aligned with a California statewide initiative, it reflects the skills most in demand by today’s employers. Cosmetology
The AS degree in Cosmetology is a minimum 1,000 hour course of study designed to meet the State of California Cosmetology Act. Butte College offers a two semester course of study to meet the curricular requirement mandated by the State Board of Barbering & Cosmetology that will enable a successful student to also earn a Certificate of Achievement, meet state licensing requirements for curricular training, result in 28.5 units of college credit and prepare students to pass the written state examination for licensure to practice cosmetology in the State of California.
