Chamber Highlights | Week Of Apr. 27 – May. 1
May 1, 2026
This week was full of connection, collaboration, and community impact across the Chamber and beyond.
The Membership Team hosted the Creative Collab Focus Group for all of our creative members, making space for connection and idea-sharing, as well as a Business Bootcamp featuring Bryan Alger of Alger Coaching. Bryan shared practical communication strategies for navigating difficult conversations— advice that applies just as much at home as it does in the workplace.
On Thursday, we hosted a table at the Volunteers of America’s Voices of Hope fundraiser breakfast. There were many familiar faces including the current Leadership Roseville class supporting classmate Victoria Monroe,
an employee at Volunteers of America Northern California and Northern Nevada. This annual event celebrates donors and community champions who are making a difference in the lives of individuals experiencing homelessness. Thanks to generous sponsors, 100% of funds raised go directly to VOA programs. It was wonderful to see so many Chamber members, along with Roseville and Placer County elected representatives, come together to champion this important cause.
We also celebrated StretchLab of West Roseville on Friday with
a Ribbon Cutting, and were excited to welcome six new members this week:
- Robert Half
- The Daily Nosh
- Pearce and Petal Design Studio
- Anne Carpenter for Roseville City Council 2026
- Have Notary Will Travel
- Grata Marketing
The Chamber also took time to recognize the many businesses that joined or renewed their membership in April. These businesses represent a wide range of industries and continue to strengthen our regional business community. From brand-new members to long-standing partners, we are grateful for their continued investment and engagement.

In other Membership news, our Coffee Passport has been a huge hit! In just a few short weeks, we’ve seen an overwhelming response, with several hundred people stopping by the Chamber to pick one up. It’s been exciting to see so much community pride while supporting our local coffee shops. We’re nearly out and already in the process of reprinting. If you’d like to be part of the momentum, sponsorship opportunities are still available. For more information, email Amanda Johnson at ajohnson@rosevilleareachamber.com
On the advocacy front, the Chamber is closely monitoring California Senate Bill 1284 (2026), which would require the state to identify employers with 50 or more employees whose workers rely on Medi-Cal and publicly report the estimated annual cost to taxpayers. Reports would begin July 1, 2027, and continue annually. While the bill does not create direct penalties, it signals growing scrutiny of employer-sponsored health coverage and could lay the groundwork for future mandates or cost-recovery measures.

For businesses in Roseville and the broader Placer County region—especially in sectors with part-time or seasonal work—this raises concerns about reputational risk, increased regulatory pressure, and potential long-term cost exposure. Employers may wish to engage with local chambers and industry groups to monitor the bill, provide feedback to legislators, and advocate for solutions that reflect regional labor realities rather than one-size statewide standards. Our UCAN coalition recommends opposition on this bill currently. It is set for hearing on May 4th.
