Chamber Highlights | Week Of May. 25-29
May 29, 2026
It was a busy week as we wrapped up the month of May, with members gathering for professional development, regional collaboration, and one of the Chamber’s signature events of the year.
The week began Tuesday with a Canva Basics workshop hosted through the Creative Collaborative Focus Group, giving attendees practical tools to enhance their marketing and communications efforts.

On Wednesday, members gathered for Business Bootcamp featuring Jamie Perez of Beyond Words Productions, who shared how businesses can use storytelling to strengthen their marketing, connect with audiences, and showcase what makes them unique.
Thursday marked our annual Placer Valley event at the Roebbelen Center, bringing together business and community leaders from across the region for a day filled with connection, collaboration, and insight. Attendees heard from experts and industry leaders representing healthcare, energy, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and local development sectors, providing valuable perspectives on the opportunities and challenges shaping our region's future.

A special thank you goes to everyone who moderated and participated in both the Healthcare Leaders Panel and the City & Town Managers Panel. Their expertise and insights helped create meaningful conversations on the Mainstage and contributed to the event’s success.

More than 60 vendor booths showcased their organizations throughout the day, creating opportunities for networking, collaboration, and new partnerships across the region. We are incredibly grateful to our sponsors for helping make this event possible, especially our Presenting Sponsor, the County of Placer, and our Host Sponsor, @the Grounds. Thank you to everyone who attended, engaged, and contributed to another successful Placer Valley.

We’re excited to continue growing a strong and diverse membership community throughout the region.

On the advocacy front, the California State Legislature's House of Origin deadline for any proposed bills to be passed is Friday, May 29. All proposed bills must pass through their corresponding chamber, either Assembly or Senate. With over 560 bills under consideration— more than 400 measures in the Assembly and approximately 130 measures in the Senate— lawmakers are working through a busy final stretch before legislation advances to the opposite chamber for further review and debate. The coming weeks will determine which proposals continue moving forward this legislative session and which measures stall before reaching the Governor’s desk.
