It was another busy week at the Roseville Area Chamber, with plenty of opportunities for members to connect, learn, celebrate, and look ahead to what’s next in our community.

 

The week kicked off Tuesday with our Entrepreneur Development Group (EDG), bringing together business owners and entrepreneurs for a mastermind-style discussion focused on navigating the challenges and opportunities that come with running a business. These conversations continue to provide valuable opportunities for members to learn from one another and build meaningful connections.

 

Wednesday brought a full day of member engagement, beginning with our monthly Ambassador Meeting.

Our Ambassadors are much-valued volunteers who dedicate their time and energy to welcoming new members, supporting Chamber events, and helping fellow members make meaningful connections.

The day wrapped up at Chevy’s, where approximately 50 members and guests gathered for our September Member Mixer. It was a great evening of networking, conversation, and community.

 

On Friday, we celebrated All American Junk Removal and Demo with a Ribbon Cutting, recognizing this exciting milestone and welcoming them into the Roseville business community.

SPLASH! excitement continued to build this week as the Chamber stopped by FOX40 with Pure Green Granite Bay, Satticus Cellars, and Paul Martin’s American Grill to preview the 30th Annual SPLASH! 

The segment highlighted the food, drinks, live music, and local businesses that make this celebration such a beloved Roseville tradition. With the big night just around the corner, we’re getting excited to bring our members and community together for another unforgettable SPLASH! We hope you’ll join us for an evening of unlimited eating, drinking, and dancing as we celebrate 30 years of this Roseville favorite.

 

 

Another exciting milestone took place Thursday as the newest Leadership Roseville class officially got underway. The Class of 2027 and Steering Committee gathered for their initial mixer, giving participants a chance to meet one another, make connections, and begin building the relationships that will shape their experience throughout the program. With the kickoff retreat just around the corner, we’re excited to see this group come together and begin their Leadership Roseville journey.

 

In advocacy news, the California Legislature has officially finished its work for the 2026 legislative session. With the deadline passing Monday, lawmakers are done voting on bills for the year, and attention now turns to the Governor. Bills that passed both the Assembly and Senate will head to the Governor’s desk, where they can be signed into law or vetoed. Most bills that are signed will take effect January 1, 2027.

The Chamber will continue tracking these decisions and keeping members informed about new laws that could affect their businesses. Two bills that reached the Governor’s desk include SB 1444 and AB 2044.

SB 1444 makes several updates to California employment laws, including modernizing Labor Commissioner wage-claim communications and clarifying penalties related to worker misclassification. The bill also makes administrative changes to CalPERS, workers’ compensation, and EDD programs. SB 1444 was signed into law on August 27, 2026.

AB 2044 requires state agencies to provide a completed estimate of the cost of complying with new building standards before the California Building Standards Commission can approve or adopt them. The goal is to provide policymakers and the public with a clearer understanding of the costs associated with new building requirements. Governor Newsom signed AB 2044 into law on August 27, 2026.

As the legislative session comes to a close, we’ll continue advocating for policies that support a strong business climate and keeping our members informed about what these changes mean for businesses throughout Roseville and the region.
